About Us
About Us

Families Together was founded on the idea that by supporting the families of people [BF1] with disabilities the community is enriched. By helping families create strong social bonds and find access to critical supports we help them become more resilient, and live a fulfilling life fully include in our community.

Our programs are designed to build and sustain strong, healthy, informed, and actively involved parents, siblings, friends, caregivers and community members who can work together to improve the lifelong outcomes for individuals with disabilities.

In July of 2021 our staff took on the contract through The Arc of Spokane to lead Parent to Parent in Whitman and Lincoln counties. If you know of any parents who are looking to connect with other parent(s) support, network, and share common-goals and resources, contact us today!

Our programs help families build strong social connections, develop resiliency, understand educational rights, provide knowledge of parenting, and understand their own emotions and how to teach emotional competency to their children. Outreach and Support

Families Together offers two support groups to provide opportunities for mutual support and to create social connections. We also offer individualized support to caregivers as they are learning new parenting techniques.

Education

We take great pride in the educational resources we’re able to extend out to our families. We currently provide Positive Parenting Courses on a monthly basis with the goal of providing parents, caregivers and siblings the tools and resources to support their child to the best of their ability. In addition to individualized support for families who are learning about the IEP and 504 process in schools, outreach and advocacy include assisting parents with IEP drafts, curriculum support as well as referrals.
